Susan Needham, Professor of Anthropology at California State University, Dominguez Hills, describes it as "one of the most vital cultural and educational centers for the Cambodian community in Long Beach." Cambodia Town, families and friends further demonstrated their support by raising $150,000 and donating it to the Long Beach Public Library Endowment Fund to support the library's after-school program.
